Intervention case: brand, sales, and service connected in a clinical laboratory

Mexico, October 6, 2026 — Between 2021 and 2023, Datagen supported a clinical and occupational health laboratory in a brand and commercial development intervention. The work focused on organizing the offering, professionalizing sales, and linking marketing with service inside a shared commercial operation. For confidentiality, the laboratory’s identity and its clients remain reserved.

The starting point

The laboratory had been open for three months. It had technical capacity and a commercial team, but sales were insufficient. Segmentation, differentiators, and a clear value promise were missing; pricing was also perceived as high relative to the market.

Four connected decisions

The technical offering was translated into direction, roles, and a sales process. The intervention was structured around four decisions that had to work together:

01. Define whom to sell to and why to choose the offering

We studied the market and both business and individual audiences. We worked on identity, positioning, differentiators, and commercial arguments so the team could clearly explain the laboratory’s value.

02. Prepare the team for consultative selling

We selected and trained the team. We structured conversations around client needs, proposals, and follow-up cadences, moving away from improvised selling.

03. Create continuity from service

We defined responsibilities and service standards, with logging, routing, and coordination of requests with operations. Service became part of the commercial journey, not only of the close.

04. Connect marketing with commercial activity

We articulated a marketing function linked to sales and service, supported by materials, campaigns, and reports that backed the team’s day-to-day activity.

The commercial system developed

The intervention left a shared base to operate and review activity:

  • Defined roles and shared service criteria.
  • A documented commercial process.
  • Brand and sales materials aligned to the promise.
  • Training and a marketing connection to keep opportunities moving.

How to read the results

During the intervention period, internal cuts of reported sales were retained. Those records show an evolution with fluctuations across 2021–2023. With rigor, they do not allow attributing that entire evolution to Datagen or measuring profitability: they reflect reported sales, not fiscal invoicing or reconciled collections.

What the case does document is the construction of a more ordered commercial operation: a clear offering, a prepared team, service continuity, and marketing connected to sales.

What this case means for other companies

When technical capacity exists but sales do not take off, the issue is rarely “more leads” alone. What is often missing is a system that connects brand, marketing, sales, and service under shared criteria. This case shows how Datagen intervenes in that full commercial function without losing focus on the client’s daily operations.
